Joao Queiroga

João Queiroga

João Queiroga is a Portuguese director, performer and educator. He holds an MFA in documentary media from Northwestern University's School of Communication and is Calouste Gulbenkian scholar, a Hoffman grantee, a Davis UWC scholar, and a Fulbright recipient. As a filmmaker his work has screen internationally at Hot Docs, IDFA, BFI, DocLisboa and many others. João has served as Chair of the Post-Production Department at New York Film Academy and is currently an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University in Doha, Qatar.

Adiang Assuoe Thomas Germain

Adiang Assuoe Thomas Germain (Tommy) was born in Limbe, Cameroon. Tommy is the main character of the short-documentary Digging For Life. Germain is also producing the film in conjunction with a team of Cameroonian and international filmmakers.

Pochi+Tamba

Pochi Tamba Nsoh

Pochi Tamba Nsoh is a journalist with Cameroon Radio and Television (CRTV), where she serves as producer and presenter. Nsoh is also the founder of Network of African Youths for Development (NAYD) that provides over 80,000 young people with opportunities and resources in Cameroon. Nsoh graduated from University of Buea with a BS in Journalism and holds a Diploma in Documentary Media from New York Film Academy. 

Nouf Al-Al Sulaiti

Nouf Al-Sulaiti

Nouf Al Sulaiti is a Qatari Producer with a passion for storytelling. Al Sulaiti has a BS in Media Industries and Technologies from Northwestern University. She wrote and directed Gubgub, a fictional short selected for Qumra 2018, funded by The Film House and Doha Film Institute. Gubgub was officially selected to screen at Austin Film Festival, International Filmmaker Festival in London and won Mohaq Best Short and Abdulaziz Jassim Award for Best Performance at Ajyal Film Festival 2018. Al Sulaiti has received grants to produce numerous projects, and is currently producing a feature documentary called Qatar Stars and feature narrative called Alterations. 

Stanley Glover


Stanley Glover is the recipient of a 2019 Princess Grace Award in Dance. Stanley began his dance training at Premiere One Dance Academy under the direction of Adrienne Brazile. He attended Philadelphia’s University of the Arts where he graduated and earned a BFA in May 2016. He was a Top-20 contestant on Season 11 of the hit television show So You Think You Can Dance and has performed repertoire and trained under some of the best in the industry, including Sonya Tayeh, Sidra Bell, Robert Battle, Dwight Rhoden, Tyce Diorio, Tommie-Waheed Evans, Gary Jeter, Roni Koresh, Wayne St. David, Tokyo, Random Dance, Hubbard Street, Pennsylvania Ballet, and many more. He also performed as a principal dancer in the Las Vegas production of Cirque du Soleil’s Mystère. Stanley joined BalletX in 2018.

Muna

Nur Munawarah

Nur Munawarah (Muna) is a Singaporean filmmaker and photographer. She obtained a Diploma in Screen Media from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Media Industries and Technology at Northwestern University in Qatar. Her documentary, Plintik, has won several awards and has screened in film festivals in Japan, Singapore, Indonesia and Vermont. Besides filmmaking, she also has a passion for photography. She has won two awards for Singapore Photographers Award 2019 and represented Singapore in the World Photographic Cup 2020. She also won an award at the International Photography Competition 2019 held in New York.

AJ+Al-Adba

Aljawhara Al-Adba

Aljawhara Al-Adba is a Qatari female filmmaker based in Doha, Qatar. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication specialising in Media Industries and Technology at Northwestern University in Qatar. Al-Adba has established herself as an editor and research assistant and her work has screened at numerous conferences and festivals including NU-Q’s Creative Media Festival. Most recently, Al-Adba became the Production Chair at Studio 20Q.

Laurent Youmndingouetmoun

Laurent Youmndingouetmoun is a Cameroonian cinematographer based in Christchurch, New Zealand. With a Computer Programmer background, Youmndingouetmoun has a unique skillset. He combines his ease with technology with his love for visual storytelling. Beyond collaborating with a vast list of clients, his directorial work has screened internationally and recently won the “Best Landscape” category award at the US Drove Festival, Oklahoma City, USA.

Reem Al-Ahmad

Reem Al-Ahmad is a Qatari female filmmaker based in Doha, Qatar. She is a graduate of Northwestern University in Qatar. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication specialising in Media Industries and Technology.

Kevin Gorey

Kevin Gorey is an award-winning NYC-based documentary film producer. His work has screen internationally at Hot Docs, IDFA, BFI:Flare, DocLisboa, NewFest and many others. Additionally experience includes assignments with Consulates of the United Kingdom and South Africa. Within these organizations, he fostered foreign direct investment and international trade development. Kevin holds an MBA in Finance, Marketing and Analytics from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a BA in Economics and International Relations from DePaul University in Chicago.

Jesseca Simmons

Jesseca Ynez Simmons

Jesseca has been recognized by the American Society of Cinematographers and was a Southern Exposure Film Fellow. Jesseca recently completed her first feature documentary I Can Only be Mary Lane, which took home the Director’s Award for Artistic Merit at the 2018 Santa Cruz Film Festival. In addition to directing, Jesseca collaborates with other filmmakers as director of photography and producer. Her images have been seen at IDFA, Hot Docs, Chicago International Film Festival as well as on National Geographic. Originally from the Bay Area, she received her BA in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Jesseca is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Dayton and a Sustainability Scholar at the Hanley Sustainability Institute.

Nevo Shinaar

Nevo Shinaar is an Israeli-born creative producer and multimedia artist based in Chicago. As a producer, his award-winning films played at film festivals including Sundance, SXSW, AFI Docs and Palm Springs, showcased on POV/PBS and the NY Times, and supported by Tribeca Film Institute and Kartemquin Films. He is a founding member of the award-winning SITE collective, and of Wolf + Me Films. Nevo holds an MFA from Northwestern University in Documentary Media and is a part of Free Spirit Media.

Collin Susich

Collin Susich is an award winning audio engineer and musician specializing in post production sound. Collin’s interest in film has lead him to work on genres ranging from fiction, experimental video art to feature length documentaries. In addition to working in post, he is an accomplished sound recordist. Collin has been a musician for 16 years and this experience has greatly informed his approach to capturing quality sound. He believes that sound is just as crucial as imagery and always strives to create an evocative sound design to bring the audience into the world of the film. Collin is a graduate of the Audio Engineering and Recording program at the Digital Institute of Recording Arts

Peter Penjo

Penjo Baba

Penjo Baba is a Cameroonian filmmaker based in Bamenda, Cameroon. He is the founder and artistic director of Penjo Entertainment. His mission is to improve the lives of those in need in the local communities through the power of art and filmmaking. He has had several assignments within BBC World News, CNN: CNN Inside Africa fixer 2015, World View Participant Cameroon, CRTV: Monday Show, Hello, CRTV Morning Safari, Miss West Africa Cameroon 2011, CRTV National Radio News, Satellite FM Radio, Yaounde, Canal2 International - Ma Maison Ciné.
